A heartwarming Christmas story with a bit of intrigue
I love Christmas stories! Especially when they’re filled with surprises and sweet romance as is Noelle! Marrying a man she thinks is involved with a railroad scheme, Noelle plans to expose everyone involved, including her groom, Grant. But Grant isn’t the ogre she thinks he is and has a mystery of his own to solve. When these two drop the pleasantries of married strangers and team up to help each other, I could feel the chemistry between them, and I enjoyed the few surprises Grant sprang on Noelle, not only for Christmas, but to convey he knows her better than she sometimes knows herself.
They worked so well together.
Oh my right from the start this one caught me going to tea room should not give you the chills. The story got even more twisty and interesting! The author had so much going on in this book it was fun to read. Noelle and Grant together took down a bunch of bad guys and Noelle gave Grant the one thing he wanted and that was the truth. Excellent book I am happy to recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it

Loved this Story
“Would she ever feel safe again?” She had ridden the stage to the end of the line and ended up in Bullet. Having taken many stages and trains, trying to lose herself from anyone following, she decided to take a chance. But she had felt followed at every stop. He literally ran into her as she was trying to find her way to a hotel. This seemed to be his lucky day! A wonderful story, filled with amazing characters (loved the people of the town!), a little suspense, mystery and a journey to finding love!!
Fun!
Janie was fleeing for her life after finding her husband dead and ended up in Bullett. Ross was the mining foreman who fell for Janie. Ross and Janie had a lively, dangerous, interesting courtship full of drama.
A Sweet, Heartwarming Read
This is a quick read that has danger, suspense, a kidnapping and a true love that grows between Weston and Talia. Weston wants a wife, but in name only. When Talia arrives, he is surprised at how young she is for a widow and wasn’t expecting someone so beautiful. This is a sweet, heartwarming read with a HEA.
Great Story!
The eighth book in the Sheriff’s Mail Order Bride series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Talia and Weston will have a lot of ups and downs, with suspense, drama, danger, villains, and love. I enjoyed seeing their story come together.
5 * Sweet small town romance
“This is a sweet small town romance. I really liked it. It has wit and charm, and has great characters.”
5 * NEVER DARE A DAREDEVIL
“I enjoyed this straightforward, page-turning story with two people, neither looking for a relationship, brought together for an event as dates. The story has a great cast of people, plenty of angst and emotions, including a few surprises.”
Must read!!
Oh my! I literally sat on the edge of my seat afraid to put the book down!!! It was that good! The characters were so real, and the action was intense!
Mail order bride stories are my favorites.
Orphaned Lucinda has always longed for a family of her own, never feeling the call to be a nun as the orphanage wanted for her. A misunderstanding at the rail station leads her to Riley, who’s expecting his mail order bride and thrilled when he thinks it’s Lucinda. She doesn’t quite match what he was expecting, but she’s happy about joining his ready made family. Then disaster strikes in the form of his ‘actual’ intended, and Riley is stunned to find out he’s been misled. Devastated, Riley withdraws into worrying about the strike looming at his mine. As the town works to overcome their escalating problems, the children become a pawn and Lucinda will have to risk everything to save them.
I love it when a plan comes together.
Lucinda had been on her way to becoming a nun now she did ask God if perhaps there was another plan possible and guess what another plan was in the works. Riley thinking Lucinda was his mail-order bride whisked her to the church to get married. It is a quick faith-based story and I enjoyed it. Perhaps a bit more about the villain’s back story but they were villains and fate took care of them. I enjoyed the characters and I loved the children. This is a book I am happy to recommend. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
When a mistaken identity gives a happy ending.
Riley has made arrangements for a mail order bride since he needs someone to help care for his deceased sister’s children. Lucinda has spent her life in an orphanage and she has been sent west to join a convent. She doesn’t wish to be a nun but she doesn’t realise that she is marrying Riley until the ceremony is concluded. It turns out the woman he was expecting had decided to stop off in an earlier town and have some fun before she arrived. What is going to happen when Riley discovers he hasn’t married the woman he was expecting?
A Fortunate Mistake
This was such a good story on so many levels! Lucinda, raised in an orphanage, had always wanted a family of her own. But she was not given a choice as she was to become a nun. Perhaps her prayers were being answered when Riley needs a wife to help him take care of his deceased sister’s children. He writes for a mail-order bride, but a problem at the train station redirects Lucinda into a marriage with Riley rather than taking her vows as a nun. Riley was delighted with his new bride who was not at all like she was in her letters, and the children loved her.
But when his actual mail-order bride, Lucy, who had delayed her own arrival by stopping elsewhere to have a good time, now finds out that someone claimed her husband-to-be, she is furious. Riley feels he was betrayed by Lucinda whom he felt deliberately misled him. But when danger arises, Lucinda will do everything she can to save and protect the people she loves. Will Riley realize how much she loves her new family? Will he abandon his wife? Does he realize he could never have tolerated the deceitful Lucy?
A BRIDE FOR RILEY, a very good story
The fourth book in the Mistaken Identity Mail Order Brides series a well written very short story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. I enjoyed reading Lucinda and Riley’s story of a case of mistaken identity that leads these two to love, with a lot of ups and downs thrown in.
Sweet, clean mistaken MOB story
This was such a sweet story. Riley could be a bit controlling but not in a mean way. He rushed Lucinda to the church and married her so quick that she didn’t have time to let him know she wasn’t the bride he had been communicating with. Lucinda and Riley worked things out by the end. There is so much more to the story and I highly recommend. I just wish it had an epilogue but I always want an epilogue.
OMG!
What a plot! This is a must-read by the author. Lucinda and Riley make a wonderful couple. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Secrets
Lucinda thought she was on her way to take orders as a nun when she ends up married to Riley to help him care for his orphaned niece and nephew. His true mail order bride and the children’s father were both over the top bad characters, but there was some suspense because of them. Riley was a bit controlling and quick to temper, but he didn’t hit anyone just shut them out. I liked Vicky and Kenny who weren’t sure of their new aunt at first, but she finds a way to connect with them through a shared love of learning.
A great entertaining read from Kathleen.
Lucinda has travelled to Butte where she’s met by Riley, who only asks if she’s Lucinda and is she ok with children, she says yes to both and is driven to the church where they get married. She’s very surprised as she thought she was going to be a nun!
Unusual storyline, very enjoyable
Orphaned Lucinda has always longed for a family of her own, never feeling the call to be a nun as the orphanage wanted for her. A misunderstanding at the rail station leads her to Riley, who’s expecting his mail order bride and thrilled when he thinks it’s Lucinda. She doesn’t quite match what he was expecting, but she’s happy about joining his ready made family. Then disaster strikes in the form of his ‘actual’ intended, and Riley is stunned to find out he’s been misled. Devastated, Riley withdraws into worrying about the strike looming at his mine. As the town works to overcome their escalating problems, their children become a pawn and Lucinda will have to risk everything to save them.
God works in mysterious ways
I loved it! Right from the very beginning you could sense that Lucinda was not expecting to end up married and a mother instead of becoming a nun. Rather interesting how that all came to happen and of course when the original mail order bride finds out that someone else already took her spot…well, she is out for revenge!
Faithful New Fan
I have read several of Kathleen Lawless’ books. Untamed (and Taboo) are definitely my favorites. I love a good sexy read, but to have one that has great characters and a great story line is even better! I am looking forward to her next book.
*LOVE LAWLESS*
Not only am I partial to Kathleen Lawless’ books because she lives in Canada, but they are fabulous reading! I loved, loved “Taboo”, “A Hard Man to Love”, and “Untamed”, now I love, love “Unmasked”! A very decadant romance, you cannot help but ADORE her men!
Wow!! What a great author.
Love Secret Seduction Book 1 and 2. Going on to 3. i want to thank you for sharing your talent with us. I love historical, romance, seductive, and sexy,, They are all wrapped up in this author’s stories. Make me want to be the woman I’m reading about. Thank you..
Oh, My!
I read this book in a matter of hours! The premise of a master lover at a the disposal of a young, sexually repressed, unfulfilled widow for seven days and seven nights provides an excellent context for this fantasy. This is less of a love story, and more a story of lovemaking, and how the experience of it can lead to more.
This story has a basic element to it that is simply sexual. It was, at times, surprisingly graphic. I would have liked to read more about the main characters beyond where they were at the end of the book.
Such a great read!
I was given a copy of this work by the author and I couldn’t put it down. Plenty of steamy scenes and the authors ability to bring you into the book with her descriptions of the settings and the characters is amazing. Looking forward to more from this talented writer!
One of My Mom’s Favorite Authors
Bought for my mother who loves this writer. She really loved the story and liked the quality of the book.
An engaging erotic romance.
An amusing, spirited, adventurous tale.
A highly erotic page-turner

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING
HIGHLY ENTERTAINING… Imagine Nancy Drew meets Sex and the City!
A WONDERFULLY HEATED TALE
The dialogue is snappy
THE SEX IS RIVETING… The story is fresh… The dialogue is snappy and unique.
It was perfect!
Toe-curling kind of amazing. I liked it way too much…. from beginning to end. It was perfect!
I enjoyed this
This book has it all – romance, action, mystery and solid characters and plot. I enjoyed this western romance and look forward to reading more by Kathleen Lawless.
Page turner
You can read one or all but just be ready to read. You will not want to put down these books. The characters will pull you in and you will get caught. Great descriptions and character development.
Strong women
Clearly fine women are strong enough to do what needs to be done.
And in the untamed wildness of the settling of the west anything can happen.
Come enjoy the Wild West
This set of books brings a different, and delightful, perspective of the Wild West. Four stories about equal partnerships with each person contributing their own powers and weaknesses to make a strong whole. You may see yourself, and what you can contribute, to make a dream come true.
Wonderful, fun ,exciting read you can’t get enough. Oh how I wish there was no ending. But moving onto more of Hope n Olivia.
If you haven’t enjoyed this author, your missing out.
I feel like part of the town and the people
Couldn’t stop reading
Really enjoying this series
I’m really enjoying this series and all the Mason brothers and the women they found to love. A really great series that captivated me from the beginning. I loved each book and all the characters.
Wonderful adventure
Mystery, murder, excitement, hate and love fills these pages. This whole series is entertaining and enjoyable. I Iove the Mason brothers made up of seven young men not blood related but by the hardships of life. I highly recommend you read this and all the stories of the Mason brothers.
A Ghost Town’s Treasured Past!
UNTAMED” by Kathleen Lawless is a tale of one Paris Sommer…who journeyed to a revived Nevada ghost town called Forked Creek…to investigate
Martha May Brown’s “Cat House” …The cowtown’s brothel….mentioned in her great-great-great-grandmother’s Martha May’s journal…which also spoke of a so-called hidden treasure. The hostess …Valerie…running the “ Cat House” now ..offered rooms and period clothing to paying guests. A local tall drink of water named Mitchell Brand plays cowboy for the tourists by staging a roping demonstration at the livery stable….caught Paris’s eye. And later at the bar…he offered to show her around…needless to say the two hit it off…and things get steamy fast. BUT is he interested in only Paris OR Paris and her journal…OR just the journal alone?!? Read & see!! Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended.
Excellent Read!
The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
New Romance!
This was a Nancy Drew Meets Carrie Bradshaw type story. It was well-written, well-paced full of romance, secrecy and mystery. The perfect combo for a hot cowboy.
Good read
Wonderful and entertaining story with interesting and colorful characters. Lots of twists and turns with plenty of drama thrown in. Love a good historical Western romance with a bumpy road. Good read.
Will he allow love in his life?
Lacey has always cared for Shane yet he hurt when he turned away from her and moved west. Now he is in a pickle and her twin wants her to help him by becoming his bride. It is a quick book and by about chapter six, you will have a pretty good idea of who the bad guy is but not the reason that does not come till the end. This is a love story and mystery combine and it was an excellent book to read. The characters were great and I really liked Lacey and I liked that Shane got it together and realized what he had married to Lacey. Kathleen Lawless has written a wonderful tale that I am happy to recommend.
Excellent addition to the Proxy Brides series
When Lacey finds out her brother’s best friend, the one she’s been in love with for years, is in prison and sentenced to death unless he marries, she agrees in a heartbeat to be his wife. Shane worked hard to make it good in the west, but he’s been framed as a horse thief and found guilty for a crime he didn’t commit by someone who doesn’t want him to succeed. He and Lacey will have to pull together to save everything he’s worked for.
Gutsy Marty
Martina was brave to accept the mail order bride offer her aunt set up taking her brother with her. She didn’t know anything about her groom, who is an ex-con and tried to turn her away. She could have given up her brother for adoption and looked into employment. Will was abrupt with her, but he starts to respect her hardworking gutsy ways. I loved that she dressed to work with the animals and was a sharp shooter. Another rancher is making trouble, but he’s no match for Marty’s ranching skills and resourcefulness.
This one’s going on my favorites list
After her father passes away and the family farm goes to her uncle, Martina has no where to go. She heads west as a mail order bride, bringing along her orphaned young half brother. She arrives to find her groom to be, Will Thorn, doesn’t want to be married. Not to mention he’s an ex-con. And what’s worse, there’s a land hungry neighbor trying to force them out, one who’s willing to stoop to whatever lengths it takes to do it. Even murder.
Undeterred, Marty is determined to pull her weight and make a life for herself and her brother, Charlie. No matter what comes up, she has Will’s back. She’s strong and tough and willing to stand up for herself, things I really admired. I absolutely loved this story. If the rest of series is anything like it, I know they’ll be on my favorites list.
Sweet read
This is a nice sweet read about Martina (Marty) and Will. Will was sent to prison for a crime he did not do. Marty and her little brother were throwing out of the only home she only knew. Will has a ranch that needs a lot of work and Marty is willing to do it. The next rancher over has other ideals about Will and Marty’s ranch. A sweet read
A good clean romance.
I like the fact that Rachel adapted to things as they happened. She shows her reluctance and then moves forward. Daniel has a soft heart and readily accepts Rachel and her unexpected “luggage”. He is an atypical Western man in that he recognizes her need to be busy and work not just be a “house wife”.
When she is in danger her realizes a few failings he has and determines to correct them. All in all this was my kind of story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Loved It!
This story hit the ground running! Rachel, an orphan, had grown up with a hard life, having to look after herself. In an unexpected chance of fate, she sees a murder and needs to get out of town. Her friend Meg had been ready to become a mail order bride but she ended up passing away with a sickness, so Rachel takes her place.
An unexpected baby, a groom who was an orphan himself and refuses to not let her escape the marriage, and a journey to a happy ending that is not exactly smooth, makes this a wonderful addition to this special series!
Loved Rachel
I loved the character Rachel. She’s had a hard life, and it shows. Great plot and plenty of action make this a delightful romance.
A Second Chance for Happiness
The author has penned a story of a couple whose relationship was fraught with misunderstandings, betrayal, a baby and a mail order bride ad. This is Olivia and Robert’s story and the character development is very good. Their first chance at happiness fell by the wayside and Olivia, finding herself expecting a baby, married someone else but then is then widowed. She sees Robert’s ad for a mail order bride and responds. Will Olivia and Robert be able to reach a HEA. Be sure to read this book to find out. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.
Deceit and Misdirection
I enjoyed this story that involved deceit and misdirection from more than one source attempting to keep two people who love each other apart. Good characters, and insight into the feelings each felt as their relationship grew. A good read.
Benjamin’s Bride
Benjamin is the last single brother. He and Georgina, who owns the cafe, have been friends for a while. She’s leaving Bullet, though, because she loves him, she feels that he takes their friendship for granted. He thinks he’d like more with her, but he’s shy and awkward, and sending mixed messages. Maybe if he has a little competition… This is a great book – so glad to see the last brother find a bride. Along this journey, we learn the fate of Guy Hawkes (who went escaped from the sheriff in the last book), watch the ladies figure out what to do with a newly acquired property, and watch Benjamin and Georgina fall in love.
Friends to Lovers Romance
Ben and Georgiana are friends, but she’s wanted to be more for a while and he can’t see it, so she plans to sell her cafe and move away from the heartache. Seeing another man interested in her makes Ben see the light, but he’s killed several men and went to prison, so doesn’t think he’s worthy of her love. I loved that Ben and Georgiana were friends first before they become romantically involved. She was a tough independent woman and he tended to be a loaner as a gunslinger. This story wasn’t as action packed as the others, but there were still people held at gunpoint and some suspenseful moments. It was nice to catch up with the brothers and their families. I hope Percy sticks around for a while and finds his own happiness.
I love stories of families and this one’s a winner.
Barron (no.6 of the 7 brothers) and Lily (sister to Rose, now married to Bishop, Barron’s twin), get off to a rocky start and don’t improve until they finally get on the same page working to take down Guy Hawkes, the man who killed Barron’s older brother and has brought nothing but havoc to the area. Love or hate? Too close to call for these two. Putting themselves in danger, though, brings out their true feelings.
Magnificent!
Kathleen Lawson outdoes herself with Barron’s Bride, part of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. This story ends with wedding number six for the Mason brothers, and maybe the end for the local bad man. Read and ENJOY!
Barron’s Bride
This book, # 6 in the series was very interesting. Contained suspense, drama, romance and an account of the culture of part of the Old West!
A wonderful addition to the series.
If you have read any of the other books in the series you will have been introduced to Bishop and may have a love-hate relationship with him. Then he helps Rose to find Lily. Hawkes is in the story causing trouble making life dangerous for the Mason brothers. I enjoyed this one it is full of love, action and danger and great characters. If you like westerns this book, in fact, the whole series would be a wonderful addition in your collection. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Good story, well written, highly recommend.
Very good story, well written as usual. Highly recommend to everyone. One to go. Enjoyable read , a little something for everyone
Bishop and Rose
This was another action packed Mason brother adventure as Rose searches for her kidnapped sister Lily and falsely promises Bishop she will help him take Hawkes down in return for his help. Rose fell into being a waitress for Georgina after Mason caught her trying to pick his pocket. But it seems to me she’s destined for something more. She just hasn’t discovered it yet. Rose and Bishop spar and sparks fly between them even when he’s pushing her away. Hawkes is his usual evil self who somehow manages to not get caught nor cause a mutiny despite how horribly he treats his minions. There was plenty of humor, suspense, and romance. I can’t wait to read Barron’s story next.
Good story but there is a cliffhanger!
I am really enjoying this series in this installment Blake meets Storm he helps her and in turn she helps him the only problem is the secret that Storm is hiding. This is not a sweet romance there is action, danger coming from all sides. It is a quick read and very good. How an author can put so much in such a few words always amazes me but Kathleen Lawless is a master at it. I highly recommend this book.
What a fun series!
It’s so good to be able to follow the love lives of seven brothers who aren’t really brothers at all but strangers all in need of family and new beginnings.
I’m excited to read the rest of the series
I love the whole series as a whole at this point
Good book!
This was an adventurous romantic story. The storyline was good and the characters were great. I would recommend this book.
Exciting book
So much fun to follow a family of “Brothers” who are not actually brothers but who have banded together from circumstances to live a life in the west. To also find a wife, this is number three to do so.
Painful Childhoods and a Dawning Love
Danger lurks all around, as an aggressive and violent neighbor terrorizes the town and aims to take over the ranch where Bradley lives. Will Bradley and Amanda confront the dangers?… This is the second in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series. It contains a strong theme of making your family with those who you love and love you. There are a few mild and passionate love scenes, lots of intrigue, and a feeling of friendship and community. I can’t wait to read Vol. #3!
Secret
So he does not want to marry her or even court her, well she has a secret she is hiding. Someone breaks in and takes that secret from her. Can she keep.him safe? Can she stop. His secret coming out? Will he finally see her as someone he wants in his life? See if there will be a happy ending
A new series!
What a great series for Western Historical romance readers! it was easy reading, fun, and sweet and I can’t wait to read more.
Great story very hard to put down. Keeps you wanting more
Very good story well written . Hard to put down and keeps you wanting more. Highly recommend to everyone. Very enjoyable read.
Very complex story.
This is not a simple read it is so full of twists and turns, great characters, danger, and mystery that will completely engage you in the story. Bullet, Arizona it was a great setting full of craziness. Laura is back to find out answers and perhaps now a second chance at love. I recommend you do not pass this one by it well worth reading. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Western historical sweet romance
Kathleen Lawless never disappoints! This sweet romance sets the stage for her new series with seven couples. I recommend this enjoyable read.
Heartwarming series
This is a heartwarming series. It has endearing characters and intriguing storylines. I would definitely recommend this Sweet Historical Western Romance series.
Fabulous stories
What a wonderful collection of stories each very entertaining. The misfit Mason brothers are a heartwrencing bunch of brothers not by blood but by tragic lives. The flow of these stories is smooth and creative. I highly recommend you read this collecting stories.
Seven
Seven brides for seven brothers is intriguing, captivating, funny and full of love. Also there is kidnapping, murder and an unscrupulous character.
